About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Sales Liaison, the Principal Sales Liaison will liaise with customers and, where relevant, vendors to support relationships and interactions following direction from the Head of Sales Liaison, in line with agreed marketing objectives and strategies.
Your key accountabilities include:
• Demonstrates an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Demonstrates commitment to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct.
• Provides necessary preparatory and liaises to facilitate contract negotiations with customers and suppliers.
• Builds and maintains (long term) favourable relationships with customers and other key relationships.
• Collects relevant market information from external interactions and exchange with relevant key internal relationship.
• Ensures adherence of marketing activities to external and internal policies and legislation.
• Represents the BHP Trading and Marketing Unit externally with customers, vendors and partners, as needed, to create a positive external image of the company.
• Assists the Head of Sales Liaison with projects as required.

• Finance team
• Sales Operations
• Customer Liaison
• A&I Administration
• Market Risk Management
• Marketing Planning
• Market Analysis Team
External Relationships include:
• Customers
• Joint Venture partners (where applicable)
Regulators (where applicable)
About You
As a successful candidate you will possess the following:
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a commercial, economic, technical and/or relevant business discipline.
Experience & Technical Competencies
• Strong communication, problem solving and risk management skills.
• Demonstrated relevant experience in sales/marketing roles in commodity markets.
• Experience in the Iron Ore market particularly portside sales market would be advantageous.
• Experience with SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI applications, etc.
Languages
• Fluent Mandarin and English, both verbal and written required.
