About the Company

Le Vision Pictures is one of the largest and most successful film companies in China. Founded in 2011 and affiliated to China’s tech giant LeTV (SHE 300104), it has positioned itself as a “film studio in the digital age”, and is global in scope with offices in Beijing, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. In merely 2 years, Le Vision has built its unique ‘O2O Marketing System’, which connects with consumers across new and established online/offline platforms, and provides them with whole new movie going experience. It is also known for the biggest field marketing/distribution network in China - covering 108 cities, 1200 theaters, which equals 85% of the market share. In 2012, Le Vision produced and distributed 6 films, including "The Expendables 2". The film grossed over $56M in China, which equals 18.5% of its total global box office. 2013 saw the release of 9 films with an overall gross of $170M. This includes the box office sensation "Tiny Times 1&2". As a result, Le Vision joined the ranks of the top 3 Chinese private film companies. 2014 saw the release of 13 films. The total gross was $390M - a 130% jump from previous year. Several box office records were also set by such hits as "Tiny Times 3", "Coming Home", "Boonie Bears" and "The Expendables 3". As part of its global strategy, Le Vision has begun collaboration with Hollywood studios. In July 2014, it launched a $200M fund geared towards making tentpole films for the global marketplace. The first is the $135M “Great Wall” starring Matt Damon. Helmed by the acclaimed Chinese director Zhang Yimou and co-invested/produced by Le Vision, Legendary and Universal. The film is currently in production and will be released worldwide in November 2016. Besides Zhang Yimou, Le Vision has signed first look deals with other top-tier directors such as Tsui Hark, Lu Chuan and Guo Jingming. It is rumored that some top Hollywood talent might soon join Le Vision as well.
